Your Data & Rights
This is the plain-English version of your data rights. The full detail is in our Privacy Policy; this page tells you, without the legal register, what you can ask for and how to do it.
Last updated: 20 July 2026
1.The idea in one line
Your career, your achievements and your applications belong to you. We hold them to do a job for you, and you can see them, correct them, take them with you or have them deleted whenever you want. Most of it you can do yourself, from your account, without asking us.
2.Who is responsible for your data
Championed Careers is the data controller, which means we decide how and why your data is used and we are accountable for it. Championed Careers is a trading name of [LEGAL ENTITY NAME],[REGISTERED ADDRESS], [COMPANY NO. if applicable]. Your rights here come from the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018, as amended by the Data (Use and Access) Act 2025.
3.What you can ask for
You have the right to:
- See your data (access)
- Get a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Fix it (rectification)
- Have anything inaccurate or incomplete put right.
- Delete it (erasure)
- Ask us to remove your data. You can delete individual stories or your whole account yourself, at any time.
- Take it with you (portability)
- Get your data in a portable, machine-readable format, or have it sent elsewhere. Your evidence bank is yours to export whenever you like.
- Object (objection)
- Tell us to stop processing that we base on our legitimate interests.
- Pause it (restriction)
- Ask us to limit what we do with your data while something is sorted out.
- Change your mind (withdraw consent)
- Switch off anything you opted into, such as Telegram notifications, at any time. Turning it off does not undo what already happened.
4.About the fit score and AI
Our software scores how well a job fits you and drafts your applications using AI. Two things worth knowing plainly:
- The fit score is advice, not a verdict. You ask for it, you read it, and you decide. Nothing is decided about you by a machine alone, and nothing is submitted unless you press submit.
- The AI that writes your drafts runs on the Anthropic API. What we send it is not used to train AI models, and the result lands in your account for you to check and edit.
5.How to make a request
For most things, use the controls in your account: export your bank, correct a story, or delete your account outright. For anything you cannot do there, emailprivacy@championedcareers.comand tell us what you want. You do not need to use any special wording.
6.Confirming it is you
To protect your data, we may need to confirm your identity before we act on a request, usually just by checking that the request comes from the email address on your account. We will only ask for what we genuinely need to be sure it is you.
7.How quickly we respond
We respond to rights requests within one month. If a request is particularly complex we may extend that by up to two further months, and if we do, we will tell you why within the first month. Using these rights is free. We would only charge, or decline, if a request were clearly unfounded or excessive, and we would explain why.
8.Where your data goes
Your account data is stored in the EU (London) region. Some processing, in particular the AI drafting, happens in the United States through Anthropic. Where your data leaves the UK, we use the safeguards the law requires, such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or standard contractual clauses. There is more detail in thePrivacy Policy.
9.If you are not happy
If you think we have got something wrong, tell us first and we will try to fix it. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office, the UK's data protection regulator, atico.org.uk. Using our service never takes away that right.
10.Contact
